LA FEMME:  "LA FEMME" (MISSING LINK, 1980)

Unfairly forgotten lone LP from late 70s Melbourne-based street group, La Femme, that lives up to its label name, sounding like the missing link between the Coloured Balls and Generation X.  Extremely aggressive Steve Jones-style guitar with a pouty vocalist, Chane Chane, very much in the Billy Idol mold.  The group were all ex-Sharpies - a thuggish Oz hybrid of skinhead, glitter rock and heavy metal - and the LP they left behind reflects it.  Comes complete with original, fold-out poster and Missing Link promo sticker.  Click below for two sound clips, including an extended take on their classic single, 'Chelsea Kids.'  DON'T MISS OUT!
