Description

ARTIST / TITLE
La Vern Baker -
La Vern Baker Sings Bessie Smith

RECORD LABEL / NUMBER --ATLANTIC RECORD
1281 (BLACK LABEL)

This is a classic from La Vern Baker here, all original.  Black label on Atlantic Records.

The vinyl is in VG+ to VG++ condition.
Record has a nice shine, looks great. Some  light scuffs and very light marks. There are a couple light needle marks on Side 1 - neither are detectable to the touch and do not produce a skip.  Clean labels on this record as you can see.  Record plays nice straight through, no skipping and with a nice clear sound with some low background noise, please take a listen below:

The cover is in VG++ condition.
Solid cover here.  Very sturdy, holds the record well.  Nice gloss on the cover, some light varnish bubble at top corner just above the album number.  Slight corner and edge wear.  Back cover has some age yellowing and a couple darker age spots.  Aside from this, the cover looks amazing for its age.

This is an Atlantic original, black label.  Release date was in 1958.  This record doesn't look 50 years old - great condition for a classic!

I grade conservatively and take a lot of time to properly list my records so
bid with confidence.

"Goldmine Standard" grading:
SS = Still Sealed
Never opened. Any flaws (torn shrinkrwrap, creasing) will be indicated in the description.

NM- = Near Mint Minus
Has been opened, but is still flawless
with no damage whatsoever.

VG+ = Very Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have scuff marks and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only "barely detectable" crackles or pops. A slight noise at the begining is allowable, but the remainder must be nearly flawless.
- Cover: May only have the slightest signs of normal wear.

VG = Very Good
The majority of records (worth selling) fall under this grade.
- Vinyl: May crackle, pop or make other annoying noises, but only occasionally,never continuously, and not more loudly than the music being listened to.
- Cover: Normal used cover wear such as ring wear and split seams. If there is abnormal damage such as tears or markings, but the seller still feels that it qualifies as a

"VG", the damage must be described in comments attached to the item.

G+ = Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have continuous crackles, pops, etc... but not so loud as to make the music completely unenjoyable for the casual listener.
- Cover: More than normal wear and tear.
