Description
LARRY JOHNSON "FAST & FUNKY" 1st.?? gold label stereo lp on Blue Goose 2001 US issue (1970) NM/VG.
I would grade this LP NM, as it looks and plays pretty much as the day it was unsealed, with minimal play and minimal, if any, cosmetic marks. (Please keep in mind that some labels -- Crown, United, even a lot of Atlantic -- were recorded with less than state-of-the-art technology, my point being that some labels sound better than others.) Cream of the crop. THIS IS A VINTAGE COPY (pre-2000). ALL LPS COME TO YOU FRESHLY CLEANED AND PLAY READY. FOR MAXIMUM RESULTS RE-CLEAN EACH SIDE AFTER INITIAL PLAY (SOME OF MY LPS HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYED FOR 40 YRS. OR MORE). (VINYL LPS ARE A CONTACT SPORT. ALL VINYL (EVEN IF JUST UNSEALED) HAS SOME SURFACE NOISE. IF YOU CAN’T ACCEPT THAT YOU SHOULD BE BUYING CDS) I seldom grade an lp NM but this would sail by even the audiophiles. I think the gold label was the first label Blue Goose used so this could well be a first pressing copy. This was the defining country blues lp of the 70's. Blue Goose also had excellent pressings in my opinion.
The Jacket: a very functional jacket I would grade VG overall with ring, seam and corner wear. Not in the same league condition wise as the lp but just fine. (I will only be citing things not visual in the photos). (I do not remove stickers unless they come off easily. I leave that for the buyer).
. ! US buyers (attached 49 states), for single lp, pay Media rate $5.00 which includes p&h, or Priority rate $12.00 which includes p&h. Paypal seems to be the only payment option Ebay now accepts.
