PRST 7237
This is the an Original Stereo 1st pressing of Larry Young's "Groove Street",
from 1962.
PRST 7237 A STEREO VAN GELDER / PRST 7237 B STEREO VAN GELDER
The front cover, bottom and vertical spines all clean, top spine has the start of a
split on the right edge and centre, bottom extreme corners have wear, the rear
cover has some overall soiling and an "Approved" stamp. All illustrated in the
photos.
labels show several spindle trails. These heavy vinyl Van Gelders are fairly
bulletproof. There's quite a few hairline fine marks, the odd heavier one,
occasionally causing ticks and pops. There's no consistant background, first
track on the b-side is a little noisy, any background elsewhere is virtually
absent when the tracks kick in. This one's not for the audiophile, it's obviously
been many times, but I've been listening to it as I write this and it's still got life
in it, the horns blast through clear and loud, any background is mostly
unobtrusive, no repetitive ticks from scratches, just ticks and the odd pop here
and there.
