Here is an EXCELLENT MINUS/VERY GOOD PLUS! LP by LARRY YOUNG titled INTO SOMETHIN’. It is an US pressing on the “NEW YORK USA” BLUE NOTE label, catalog #BST 84187 in STEREO sound and was originally released in 1964. The vinyl is in EXCELLENT! condition, shiny and black, with a few light non-sounding marks and should have excellent playback. It has a (RUDY) VAN GELDER STAMP IN DEADWAX! The cover is in VERY GOOD! condition with some top right water damage, paper tears, edge and corner wear. It is an opportunity for you to purchase this LP by LARRY YOUNG. Larry Young who like most organists originally sounded close to Jimmy Smith, took a big step away from the organ's dominant influence on this adventurous and colorful set, which was his debut as a leader for Blue Note. Performing with a quartet also including tenor saxophonist Sam Rivers, guitarist Grant Green and drummer Elvin Jones, Young performs four of his originals plus Green's "Plaza de Toros." Other than the blues "Backup," the music is fairly complex, grooving in its own fashion and showing that Young was quite aware of John Coltrane's modal excursions.
