This US 1st press is on the New York USA, blue and white Blue Note label. It has the essential elements of the early presses - the ear and Van Gelder etched in the dead wax. Released in 1965, the album also features Elvin Jones, Sam Rivers and Grant Green.
The vinyl is in Very Good condition. It is pressed on wonderful heavy 60's vinyl and has a superb lightly played gloss. There are a couple of small marks on Side One and a few wispy light hairlines on both sides but nothing significant and nothing that significantly reduces the sound quality. The label is superb, the white is bright, the blue is solid and there is only the very slightest spindle wear.
The sound quality is Very Good. The heavy vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and plays through well. Very rich and vibrant, clear with a couple of clicks on the small marks and a little background hiss but this does little to spoil the overall quality of the LP. The sound is bold and clear with Excellent audio separation throughout.
The heavy card sleeve is in Very Good condition. The brown is bold and the image and text are sharp. The white has some discolouration, there is a scuff in the corner and a little tape edge wear. The back still has the tape marks but the white is bright and the text is sharp. The whole sleeve is solid.
