Laughing Clowns -- Laughing Clowns 12"EP

1983? Australian release on Hot Records (AUSTRALIA) (catalog # MISSED 1, reissue of the 1979 Missing Link release), in Picture Sleeve.

The deubt EP by Laughing Clowns, originally on the indie label Missing Link, Hot picked this up and reissued it sometime around 1983-84. The only dates on here are 1979 and 1980.

Trouser Press Review: The Clowns' strange but remarkably bracing debut EP features piano that both meshes its timbral resonance with Kuepper's guitar chording and co-states the melodies with the sax, as well as — at one point — providing an unnervingly calm anchor while the drums run wild. The romantic and musical clichés of supper-club/movie jazz go berserk in an astonishingly eloquent yet intense statement of disillusionment and frustration.
