LEAF HOUND "GROWERS OF MUSHROOM" RAREST OF ALL LPs ! 1971 DECCA LABEL (SKL-R 5094)
I am selling my husband's collection. This Album is a progressive masterpiece that was ignored during its lifetime, but has since gone on to attain legendary status.
It was voted the number one most collectable rock record of all time by Q Magazine.
The album was recorded in one eleven hour session at Spot Studios in Mayfair, London in late 1970 with Peter French on Vocals, Mick Halls on Guitar, Derek Brooks on Guitar, with his brother Stuart on Bass & Keith George-Young on drums.
The band had previously been active, with various line ups, as Black Cat Bones. A victim of circumstance and a sequence of disputes with their management, led to the band touring Germany with the album still unreleased. Because of their success on this tour, German label Telefunken released both the album and a single. On returning to the UK, the album still remained unissued & the band finally broke up before it was released, losing the opportunity to promote it, and it disappeared without trace.
Many years later, the album was re-discovered, and proclaimed a classic. Unfortunately only a handful of copies of the album sold. THIS IS ONE OF THEM!!!
The tracks are:- Freelance Fiend, Sad Road to the Sea, Drowned My Life in Fear, Work My Body, Stray, With a Minute To Go, Growers of Mushroom, Stagnant Pool and Sawdust Caesar.
This is an excellent copy of this UNBELIEVABLY RARE and sought after album.

The laminated front cover is in excellent condition. There is a slight ring mark around the top and the open edge is a bit dirty.There are a couple of creases coming in from the spine which I have tried to photograph. The back cover is black and white and non-laminated. It is also in great condition apart from a light crease in the top right hand corner and some small light creases coming from the top edge.The top and bottom edges are not at all scuffed. The spine is slightly creased and has a couple of tiny tears at crease points.All writing on the spine is perfectly clear.
The vinyl is contained in the original plain white paper sleeve. This is discoloured and has a 2" split in one side, but is otherwise intact.
Vinyl record itself is in fabulous condition and has hardly been played. There are almost no crackles or pops - really good sound.
The famous dark blue Decca label is in great condition on both sides.There are a few spindle lines near the centre on Side 2.
