Description
Leather Nunn - "Take The Night"
The ultra rare heavy metal album by Leather Nunn, originally released in 1986. An American metal jewel - with front man Wade Williams on vocals. It was a super rare limited edition of only 500 copies. Some copies sold for well over $1,000. I know, I was the one selling them. And this is the last known copy to be available PLUS I have the ONLY two TEST PRESS copies that were ever made! How do I know these are the only two test pressings? Because my brother Jim (Jungle Jim Mehm) was the bass player and he was also the one who originally paid for the album/studio time so he received the only two copies back in 1986 and gave them to me to sell. The condition of the 1 of 500 Leather Nunn album is almost flawless. There is only one scuff looking mark on one side that will not hurt it's play quality. The jacket shows normal wear and did it's job - protecting the album itself. Sleeve is in great condition. The condition of the two Test Presses is just as good, or better. They have never been played over the last 22 years. The sleeves for these two are a little worn looking only because they don't have a jacket.

I'm adding some extra notes to this auction to help with all the inquiries.
I'm also uploading some large pics of the album, album cover and one of the two test pressings. The album shows a little more wear than I initially thought so I thought larger pics would be helpful. The test pressings are still in great condition. I also made a couple short video clips. One showing the actual vintage Leather Nunn vinyl playing and the other shows one of the test pressings being played for the first time ever. Although it's hard to judge the sound quality by listening to my little digital camera video I'd have to say that in my opinion the test pressing sounded even better than the LP.
All you need to do is go to www.LeatherNunn.com and you will see links on the home page to the large pics and videos. The videos are large files so give them some time to download. Each clip shows side A, first song so you can compare.
If you have any other quetions don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks,
Joe Mehm
On Apr-16-08 at 07:15:29 PDT, seller added the following information:OK, I had someone ask a couple good questions about the test pressings so I decided to update that info here.
First Question: "I was wondering if the two test pressings have any matrix numbers inscribed in the grooves of the vinyls like the originals. "
Answer: Yes, there appears to be 4 places on each side ofeach pressing that has a string of text and/or letters. Both sides of both pressings has the same exact text except for where it notes the side of the pressing. Two have an "A" and two have a "B" after the dash.
Here are four close up pics done the best I could. Since they are not real clear I added text explaining exactly what they say: <a href="http://www.leathernunn.com/images/lntext1.jpg"">PIC1</a> <a href="http://www.leathernunn.com/images/lntext2.jpg"">PIC2</a> <a href="http://www.leathernunn.com/images/lntext3.jpg"">PIC3</a> <a href="http://www.leathernunn.com/images/lntext4.jpg"">PIC4</a>
Second Question: "Are you absolutely positive that there are only two test pressings made and the originals...not re-release or bootleg? Can the winner get an official signed letter of authenticity to go with the items from your brother Jim?"
Answer: Yes, I'm absolutely positive these are the only two test pressings. My brother Jim (the bass player) paid for and always kept the only pressings made. I too was in the studio 22 years ago(back when rocks were soft). I ran the lights for the band and for additional proof, I'm also noted on the back of the album: (Joe "GlowWorm" Mehm). You can see my eBay user name above not only shows 100% feedback rating but is also my name: "jmehm". My brother Jim has been in Las Vegas the last few days so it's been kinda hard to reach him to answer additional quesitons but I do know for a fact he will be willing to sign a letter of authenticity. He and I are splitting the proceeds from this auction.
So, to make sure I answered this question properly... I guarantee these to be the only original copies of the Leather Nunn test pressings from 1986. I hope this helps.
