Description

This is a crazy rare original TEST PRESSING of Led Zeppelin's first album.  The record label, on both sides, as you see in the pictures, is a semi-transparent typed-out sticker on top of a "Test Pressing" label underneath.  The label says "ATLANTIC RECORDING STUDIOS" and has the album title and tracks and times.  This is an original issue, not a reproduction or reissue.  This is the record that radio stations/critics got when the record first came out.  It's sure to bring a sentimental tear to Jimmy's wizened face when you whip it out at the reunion for him to sign.

Since this is a test pressing, it was obviously intended for promotional use and has a "Promotional Copy Not For Sale" sticker on the front cover.  The outside covers look like the normal commercially available issue.  The vinyl is a solid G+, maybe closer to VG, with a couple of hairlines.  But you obviously don't want this to play.  The jacket is VG, with no ringing and about a 1/8" split on the bottom edge near the opening.

This is a curiosity probably best suited to Zep completists/hardcore collectors who are looking for something to show off to other Zep completists.  I've never heard of/seen another one of these floating around.  It may actually be so rare that nobody cares about it, but I have no idea, so I'm putting a low reserve and letting the market do its thing.

I grade more harshly as a seller than as buyer.  I guarantee all my records; check my feedback.  Please email questions.
