This auction is for an original pressing of the legendary Led Zeppelin LP, simply titled 'Led Zeppelin III' on the plum / purple Atlantic label. This is an extremely early pressing that features the 'Peter Grant' credit on the labels - this was removed very soon after release, and today copies with this credit are very hard to find, especially in this great condition!
Led Zeppelin are considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and their original vinyl releases are exceptionally collectible! You can find the 2nd presses with the orange and green Atlantic labels anywhere, but these original presses with the plum / purple labels are very, very difficult to find!

The cover is looking really, really good for its age! The front is clean with just a little light creaming and with a couple of little knocks but there's no staining or marks or anything at all serious! The wheel is present in the sleeve and stills turns nice and freely. In the middle of the front (as well as the gatefold and the back) there's a little dimple where the pin holding the wheel has imprinted onto the sleeve. Top seam is holding perfectly. Bottom seam has a little wear but is holding tightly with no splits. The spine is perfect with no splits or tears and with everything intact and fully legible. Back cover, just like the front. Gatefold is looking near perfect with no stains, writing etc, and just a little creaming around the edges. Very nice sleeve! Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX-
The playing surface has a nicely, crisp shine to it. Side 2 just has some light, faint scuffs in a few places. Side 1 has a fair amount of very light, faint scuffing but nothing that looks at all serious. Not a bad copy! Usually these turn up trashed and played into the ground!
.
The labels are clean with no writing, marks, stickers or anything, and just a very small amount of light, very faint spindlewear. Awesome labels!
