Description
Hi up for auction with no reserve are two original "Red and Plum" Led Zeppelin vinyl LP's. Both of these records were part of a collection I inherited and have been well played over the years..
I've done some research and the info I have found is listed is below - although I imagine most of you will know more than me. I do not have a record player to test them so you are welcome to come and inspect them in person before you bid if you wish...
The records are:
Led Zeppelin 4 (1971) - Plum & Red label copy (2401012). This is the very first issue with "Executive Producer: Peter Grant" written on the label. This was an error and all subsequent copies this was removed making this a rare and desirable copy. Also has the "Pecko/Duck" inscription.
Led Zeppelin 2 (1969) - Plum & Red label copy (588198). This is again a first edition with "The Lemon Song" listed as "Killing Floor" on the label after a dispute with Howlin Wolf.
Now to describe the condition - I am not a record collector or seller and don't even own a record player so I will do my best to describe them.
In my opinion Led Zeppelin 4 appears to be in fairly decent condition considering it's age but does have a few marks here and there. I've tried to show this in the pictures. The cover has also split partially on the spine.
Led Zeppelin 2 on the other hand I would describe as in relatively poor condition - there appears to be a few marks and small indentations on the vinyl which I imagine will affect how it plays and it also has a small chip on the very edge.. The cover is also in fairly poor condition.
