LED ZEPPELIN Houses of The Holy SHRINK NEAR MINT OBI INTACT

$

I have not sold on ebay for a couple of years.  My feedback was 100%, the vast majority of which was in buying/selling records.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Record Grading is a subjective endeavor!  Sellers tend to over-grade, buyers tend to under-grade.  Honesty, attention to detail and complete accuracy are the only ways to counteract this problem.

Visual Grading   under a bright light is absolutely necessary!  Any record looks near mint in the dark.

Play Grading      is everything.  I have had pristine looking records play crackly, and have had scratchy looking records play surprisingly cleanly.

Label

Descriptions       are a must.  It can be very frustrating to see a listing of a copy of (for example) Iron Butterfly’s In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, that tells you nothing of the label.  Is it an original purple & brown label, a 2nd issue yellow ‘1841 Broadway’ address label, a 3rd issue yellow ‘Rockefeller Plaza’ address label, or an even later gray label?#!??

Sealed Records I will never knowingly sell a re-sealed record.  I have been burned in the past, and know the frustration.  However, once you buy a sealed record, and open it, I just cannot offer a refund if you don’t like what you got.  Unless I witness the opening, there is simply no way for me to know if what you send back is what I sent you.  If I have suspicions about a sealed record, I will either not sell it, or relate my suspicions in the listing.

Purchasing a record sight-unseen can be very rewarding, or can be very disappointing.

My goal is very simple.  To have every buyer finish the deal happy!

WITH THAT SAID, UP FOR AUCTION:

Item:                                     Led Zeppelin

Title:                                     Houses of the Holy

Label:                                   Atlantic

Label Number:                SD 7255

Label Description:        Red and green label with the 1841 Broadway address

Year of Release:            1973

Country:                              USA

Cover Grade:                    NM                 The gatefold cover still has the original shrink wrap, so the gatefold has never been fully opened.  In fact, the original “obi” is still wrapped around the cover (beneath the shrink wrap).  Even the small piece of the obi that was removed so that the LP could be pulled out is still here.  The cover is beautiful, with no corner wear, ring wear, splits or bent corners.  The obi is perfect.  There is a large factory sticker on the outside of the shrink.  There is also the remnants of an old price sticker on the outside of the shrink.

Vinyl – Visual Grade:    NM                 The vinyl still exhibits full gloss, with really no flaws at all to mention.

Vinyl – Play Grade:        NM                 My play grade notes say that it is a nice, clean and enjoyable play!

Label Grade:                    NM                 Both labels are near mint without even a spindle mark.

Comments:                       The original custom inner sleeve is here and in near perfect condition.  A nice rarity having nearly the entire obi intact!  You won’t go wrong with this one!!

I USE THE FOLLOWING GRADING SYSTEM:

For those who prefer a #’d system

Mint*--------------------------------------(M)------------------9.5 – 10.0

Near Mint---------------------------------(NM)------------------8.5 – 9.0

Very Good Plus Plus--------------------(VG++)-----------------7.0 – 8.0

Very Good Plus--------------------------(VG+)----------------------5.0 – 6.5

Very Good--------------------------------(VG)---------------------3.5 – 4.5

Good---------------------------------------(G)---------------------2.0 – 3.0

Poor--------------------------------------- (P)-------------------1.0 – 1.5

* - Due to the nature of the beast, genuine Mint vinyl records are an extreme rarity!
