Description
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with an Elys cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. Any significant playing defects will be detailed in the description below. I know how disappointing it is to receive a record graded as excellent, only to find that listening pleasure is spoiled by endless pops, loud clicks and intrusive background crackle. I guarantee that you will not buy such a record from me!!
The winning bidder can expect to receive a clean record, carefully packaged, with the vinyl removed from the inner and outer sleeves to prevent splits in transit.
Here for auction is an EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE of the rare first album by LED ZEPPELIN simply titled “LED ZEPPELIN Iâ€, Catalogue Number 588 171. This is an ORIGINAL 1969 STEREO UK PRESSING on the PLUM / ORANGE ATLANTIC LABEL with EARLIEST A//1, B//1 Matrix Numbers, and WARNER BROS. CREDITS on the labels. EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND IN THIS STUNNING CONDITION!!!
The fully laminated sleeve is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. It has the grey band along the bottom edge which denotes the earliest sleeve design (many later plum/orange label sleeves did not have this). The front and back covers are UNMARKED apart from a few creases in the laminate. There is VIRTUALLY NO AGE DISCOLORATION!!! The EDGES ARE COMPLETELY UNWORN and the CORNERS SHOW ONLY THE LIGHTEST OF RUBBING. The SPINE is SOLID with just light creasing. All text is CLEARLY LEGIBLE and the ends neatly pinched as they should be. There are absolutely no rips, stickers or writing!!!
The SOLIDLY PRESSED vinyl retains much of its ORIGINAL LUSTRE, and sits flat and true on the turntable. Visually in EXCELLENT CONDITION with just a few very light surface marks which do not affect play. The BEAUTIFUL PLUM/ORANGE LABELS show only light spindle traces which indicate that the record has not been played many times. The label on Side 2 has slight ink smudging to a small area of the rim text which is barely noticeable.
A critical play-grading showed why these EARLY STEREO PRESSINGS are so sought after. The CLARITY and POWER of the AMAZING SOUNDS that emanate from these LOUD CUT GROOVES is VERY SPECIAL!!!
I have always been impressed by the quality of ATLANTIC pressings and this LP does not disappoint. Both sides play SUPERBLY with ALL FREQUENCIES CRYSTAL CLEAR. There are no jumps, pops or loud clicks, and a minimum of unwanted noise.
Complete with the CORRECT ORIGINAL poly-lined white inner sleeve which is in very good condition condition.
