Led Zeppelin 1 - 1st variation of the very 1st issue with TURQUOISE sleeve, UNCROSSED matrix and Superhype label MISPRINT!
VINYL: Play tested 2 times! I enjoyed it a lot listening to this masterpiece again! No deep marks, no skips, no pops. Only the usual crackle on the quiet parts. I'm almost certain, that a lot would grade higher but I prefer the buyer being pleasantly surprised and happy with his record. So, as I want to be on the very safe side and as there are quite a few light marks / hairlines (mostly sleeve removal marks), I grade it G+
MATRIX NUMBERS: 588171 A//1 588171 B//1 UNCROSSED! – Later pressings had the 8's scratched out on side 1, making this the rarest ever variant!
LABELS: VG+ Nice and clean PLUM PRESS labels. This record has the infamous MISPRINT, where track N.3 is credited to Jewel AND to Superhype. Most of the turquoise sleeves already had the records with the labels corrected. Not this one! The very first issue of the very first pressing!
SLEEVE: FULLY LAMINATED Mac NEILL PRESS SLEEVE WITH TURQUOISE LETTERING : I bought this recently from a reputable dealer as VG+. As I’m picky, I would grade VG. There is some creasing and some laminate liftoff / missing next to the spine (see pics). In fact, these covers are VERY fragile and to find a copy without this issue after their 50 years, you either have to pay the triple+ price or you have to take care and look out for all the fakes that are out there!
