Robert Ludwig Hot Mix
Overview: This is a copy of Robert Ludwig's "High" or "Hot" mix, as denoted by the RL ss on both sides of the dead wax. The RL is very clearly seen; the ss, which stands for Sterling Sound, is to the right and is very faint; it almost requires a magnifying glass to see. If the RL ss is not present, then it is a repress - remastered at Atlantic, not Sterling Sound. Around 200,000 copy of Ludwig's High mix were done before it was found that the mix caused some poor quality needles to "skip", so a repress was ordered by Ertegan, President of Atlantic Records.
Matrix/Runout: Side A - T ST-A-691671 - 1A
Side B: - T ST-A-691672 - 1A
Record Condition: Both sides have been play-tested. The listening experience on my stereo setup was phenomenal - the record really "pops". The vinyl has several light scratches on both sides. There is some surface noise that can be heard at times - more-so on side 1, but not to the point of distraction. Grade - VG
Jacket Condition: Jacket has aged well, some light to moderate corner and edge wear, and light cover wear Inner gatefold is excellent. There is a name in marker at top of back cover, which is the only reason I didn't grade it a VG+. Grade VG.
Sleeve: Original Atlantic label sleeve advertising the various releases at that time. Small seam-split at bottom.

GRADING: primarily grade my records visually, based on the Goldsmith rating system of Mint, Near Mint, Very Good Plus, Very Good, Good, and Poor. Questionable marks and scratches are usually tested on a turntable and noted in the listing. I try to err on the conservative side in my grading; but since it is not an exact science, there are bound to be differing opinions as to what constitutes a certain grade. Suffice it to say that I strive to be as honest as possible in my listings, as I plan on selling records, etc. for the long haul and I am not interested in ripping anyone off. That being said, I would add that the time for questions is DURING the auction, not after. I will be happy to respond to any email as soon as possible. SHIPPING: U.S. purchases will be shipped via Media Mail, unless another method is requested by the buyer. All International and Canadian purchases will ship via Ebay's Global Shipping Program.
