You are looking at an authentic, original, and highly desirable vinyl Lp record album on quality vinyl at 33 1/3 rpm. You are looking at another great audiophile record. This auction seems to be loaded with them. This is Led Zeppelin II - the famed and exceedingly rare Robert Ludwig narrow wax pressing.  Here's the story behind this rare record:  After Mr. Ludwig cut this record reports were that the stylii of the day couldn't track the massive bass cut into the grooves.  Fearing losses of record sales Atlantic records immediately remastered it at a lower level.  Ironically today these first RL (Robert Ludwig) pressings are the very best sounding versions ever made and now the stylii made today can easily and competently track the deep subterranean bass grooves cut into this record.  It's a shame that Mr. Ludwig no longer cuts vinyl but his legacy is very clear.  He cut some of the very best sounding rock records ever made. This particular record is the extremely rare and very hard to find narrow wax version. Look at the picture of Side 2 - see how the run out grooves almost meet the label? This is the rare Holy Grail for Led Zeppelin II - the very rare narrow wax version. This is reportedly the best sounding Robert Ludwig Led Zeppelin II pressing ever made and copy that everybody wants. This record grades visually as beautiful VG and may improve with a good cleaning. The jacket is in very good condition overall with some wear along the inner center crease. Does not have original inner sleeve (but we will provide a nice, new MFSL inner sleeve to better protect the record during shipping). Please do not miss out on this rare and great record!
We play graded this record and here is what we found:
Side 1:
Opens with Whole Lotta Love. This song rocks hard and sounds amazing. Worth the price of admission just for this one song but there's so much more! Surface noise is present but is generally lower than the very dynamic and loud music. The middle of Whole Lotta Love must be heard to be believed! What Is and What Should Never be also has some great sound which this pressing is really known for. Tremendous bass during The Lemon Song by John Paul Jones - it's easy to see why this pressing goes for the big bucks - it sounds incredible!  Thank you has the quietest music on the record and it is here where we can hear more surface noise but still plays at VG- to VG overall.
Side 2:
There is some surface noise heard between tracks but make no mistake this is a very enjoyable record as is. Heartbreaker opens with some surface noise and it is also heard during Page's solo. Ramble on sounds wonderful on this copy! Bring It On Home sounds amazing, too. Side 2 plays VG- to VG overall but the dynamic quality of the music makes it very listenable as the music is usually louder than the surface noise. A very rare Robert Ludwig narrow wax Led Zeppelin II for your collection.
