Cover; NM
The lighter brown very 1st press Bomber variant. Full, vibrant colours just as you would have bought it from the shop back in 1969. Remarkably, the white is still white. No stains, writing, tears, knocks, rubbing, ringwear etc. There are two minimal, unobtrusive creases on rear – one leading in form the spine, the other close to the opening edge (see picture 2). Spine is near perfect apart from the presence of a tiny 2 mm indent at the very top. This is maybe just possible to see in photograph 4 but it is so small I mention it just for completeness. This is not a ding or knock of any kind. All spine text 100% fully legible. and square corners. Inside of gatefold in absolutely immaculate MINT condition. Remarkably there is no wear to any of the edges including the opening edge which has no feathering. this is next to impossible for this cover. This copy also posseses the beyond rare green-blue edged spine referred to in Record Collector (I have my own thoughts about this but its there for you to see). Must be one of the very best 1st press covers left for this album. I really don’t think you will ever find better.
Vinyl; M- (visual)
Silent run in grooves and silence between tracks on both sides indicates how unbelievably clean this vinyl is. This is confirmed by the beautiful, jet black sheen on this very 1st press 155 g slab of vinyl. Needless to say there are no warps, scratches, marks etc. Just a few wispy inner sleeve removal lines can be seen only when angled to the sunlight. If you're lucky you just might find another copy which looks as good as this BUT you'll never find one that sounds like this, which leads me to...
M (audio)
I am going to grade the audio on this as full MINT even though this has been played (albeit only a handful of times ever - check the vinyl residue still attached to the spindle hole in picture 8). This plays through VERY cleanly with jaw dropping dynamic range. Even when played very loud indeed there is almost absolutely nothing unwanted on this vinyl at all - I heard one pop on my set-up and that was it. I have a lot of mint vintage vinyl but nothing else like this. This has proved completely impossible for me to beat for audio and I have owned later press minty red/plums, a copy of Classic Records 200 g issue, and now own the Japanese SHM CD. However, I also collect Vertigo swirls and very reluctantly have to let this copy go.
Labels; M- both nice and clean. Minimal spindle traces with the all important Llvin Lovin Wreck and The Lemon Song title credits.
Inner; M- Ultra clean Blue lettering ‘Caution plastic bags can be dangerous’ text. No splits, creases etc.
Terms and conditions –PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Please note that due to E-Bay's UK listing policy I have to list with no charges for P&P in the UK which is ridiculous. Postage from Denmark is expensive and will be charged at cost as itemised below. I do not charge for packing materials etc. If this is not to your satisfaction please don't bid.
Payment to be made within 48 hours of auction end. I only accept payment by Paypal - no surcharges apply to these payments.
Record will be removed from original inner and placed inside separate inner and packaged outside of sleeve to prevent knifing in transit. I reuse cruciform boxes etc and stiffeners/bubblewrap for P & P purposes. As a buyer of vinyl myself (see my feedback) you can rest assured that records will be very well packaged to make sure the item reaches you in the condition it leaves me. I take lots of extra photos for full peace of mind for both parties and want you to be as happy with the item as I have been. This is a heavy item (registration or full insurance is mandatory) and is expensive to post from Denmark. However, if you win more than one item postage will be considerably cheaper.
