Description
Led Zeppelin 'II' 1969 UK original on the Atlantic red/plum label, catalogue number 588198 (stereo) The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side One: 588198 Av2 1 1 2 Side Two: 588198 Bv2 1 1 3
PLEASE NOTE THE COVER SHOWS PLENTY OF WEAR, BUT THE VINYL IS EXCELLENT
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. Side One has some light wispy scratches which all look as though they have been caused by moving the record in and out of the bag, Side Two looks about the same. In fact this vinyl does not look as though it has been played a lot and the audio quality is great. There is a little bit of light crackle now and again, but overall it's excellent, no sticks, no skips, no jumps.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels are in excellent condition, they have some faint spindle lines, but no writing, no damage.
The cover is a gatefold type, it doesn't have any coating or laminate - there's plenty of light surface rub wear, also to the edges and corners. There's also a turquoise border on the left hand side of the light brown on the front, I'm told this is a feature of the very earliest covers and it also goes on to the spine. There are also two small scuffs on the front surface as well as the wear. The centre piece looks fine, I don't suppose it looked much different when it was new (it shows 'the Lemon Song' track title as does the label on the record).
The spine is well worn with the edges fraying, the title is partly visible but certainly not readable, but the catalogue number is only partly missing and can just about be made out if you know what it is.
The inner sleeve might be the original, I think it's the right type but I have several Atlantic albums and they could have got mixed up. Anyway it's intact, just a little brown and creased with a few small tears, nothing serious. I have checked the Record Collector grading system, and I would say the cover is 'good' and the record is 'excellent'.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
