Description
1970 very first pressing of classic rock album on Atlantic Records with the red and plum label and that all important Peter Grant credit that only appeared on the very first issues.
THE COVER
Laminate sleeve is in very nice condition. The wheel is fully working with the centre pin still in place, which is so unusual with most of these which have lost the pin over 46 years. The spine is fully legible with just a slight laminate crease. The inside of the gatefold is nice and clean. There are slight laminate creases to the back and faint dark marks to the outside edges which will probably clean off. Very nice example. (See photos)
THE VINYL
Vinyl has many light marks but nothing deep. It plays well with just a little background noise between tracks and the odd infrequent light noise but nothing distracting. Great full stereo sound.
THE LABELS
The labels are bright and vibrant and there is little evidence of spindle marks
THE COMPANY INNER
The original inner that was issued by Polydor who marketed Atlantic Records in the UK is in good condition. The plastic inner bag is still attached, these usually always peel off. The blue text is clear and fully legible. There are no seam splits but there is a little yellowing and some creasing and rippling.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: The record shall be sent to the lucky winner very well packaged and correctly stored outside of the sleeve. I ONLY SEND ITEMS REGISTERED! No exceptions! Collection for cash is welcomed. Shipping to UK is £5.80 first class signed for, to the EU is £15 tracked and to the rest of the world is £20 tracked. If you are not happy with the postage costs then please do NOT bid! I only use LP boxes that fit 1 or 2 records, so each item won will be sent individually unless you are willing to pay for the extra packaging. Please bear this in mind before bidding on more than one item. The postage costs may seem high but I actually make a loss. Royal Mail has recently increased their prices and Ebay now take 10% of all postage costs in the final fee and Paypal take a further 5%. This means I am not passing on the cost for packaging or my time queuing in the Post Office. I will not lower the postage price, please do not ask. I try to be as accurate as I can, but unless otherwise stated I have not listened to the LP the whole way through and like all used records there is always a chance there may be sound defects.
