LED ZEPPELIN - III ( U.K. FIRST PRESSING )
THIS IS THE RARE U.K FIRST PRESSING ON THE RED/MAROON LABEL WITH THE GATEFOLD ROTATING-WHEEL SLEEVE. "DO WHAT THOU WILT" IS IN THE DEAD WAX ON SIDE 1 AND THE TOP OF THE LABEL HAS "PRODUCED BY JIMMY PAGE" AND "EXECUTIVE PRODUCER PETER GRANT" CREDITS. THE CATALOGUE NUMBER 2401002 IS PRINTED WITHOUT A BREAK ON THE LABEL.
THE VINYL IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE ARE SURFACE MARKS ON BOTH SIDES, MOSTLY HAIRLINES AND A SURFACE MARK FROM THE POLYLINER ON SIDE 1. EVEN SO, APART FROM THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT CRACKLES DURING QUIET PASSAGES OF MUSIC, THE SOUND THROUGHOUT IS EXCELLENT.
OVERALL THE COVER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION; THERE IS SOME VERY FAINT LIGHT BROWNING AROUND THE EDGE OF THE COVER AND A FEW TINY SCUFFS ON THE SPINE ( SEE PHOTO).
THIS ALBUM WAS RELEASED IN 1970 ON ATLANTIC RECORDS CAT. NO. 2401002.
DUE TO THE VALUE OF THIS ALBUM IT WILL BE POSTED VIA SIGNED FOR POSTAGE TO THE U.K. AND INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR TO THE REST OF THE WORLD.
Grading
I grade all my records using the Record Collector's Grading System which is as follows:
Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent - The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits discoloration etc.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/ or defaced.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Packaging
Items are sent in new plastic sleeves and high quality, professional record packaging, with at least four stiffeners for protection.
