Description
LED ZEPPELIN IV
This is an early UK press of Led Zeppelin IV. Released in 1971, this press can be identified by the A3/B4 matrix and the crossed out and then corrected matrix on Side 1. It has the original Pecko Duck and Porky handetched in the runout and contains the label error 'Misty Mountain Top' instead of 'Misty Mountain Hop.' It is pressed on the earliest wonderful heavy vinyl. As such the sound quality of these earlier presses is enormously superior to the flimsy later issues. The record is complete with the original flipback printed inner sleeve and the matt gatefold sleeve.
The record in Very Good+condition. The vinyl has asuperb gloss, there is no whitening, just a couple of very light marks and a few wispy hairlines on both sides. The vinyl has only been lightly played. The label is exceptionally clean, the colours are vivid and the white is extremely bright. The black text is sharp and there is only the very slightest spindle wear.
The original flipback dark brown printed inner sleeve has edge splits and a tape mark but it is still solid and bright.
When played the record sits completely flat on the turntable. The sound is extremely bold, very bassy and vibrant with some moments of light background hiss but no loud crackle and certainly no jumps or skips. It plays well throughout.
The matt earliest light gatefold sleeve is in Very Good condition. The picture is still bright and the colours are still warm and bold. There is a little corner and edge wear. The inside is completely clean, the black is solid and the picture is sharp. The whole sleeve is solid. 522 (GS 6.6.2 (522))
