Led Zeppelin IV A2/B2 UK (Lilac Vinyl)
This lilac coloured vinyl was pressed in 1978 on the Atlantic label and has the Warner info on the rim text of the labels. The audio plays to an exceptional standard as detailed below and the lyric inner is practically like new.

The audio on S1 is Near Mint
The audio on S2 is Near Mint ('Going To California' is NM- and 'When The Levee Breaks' Ex+)
The gatefold is Ex++

Visual grading
This vinyl has perhaps only been played once as there is only one spindle trace line on S2. Under a strong bright light I can only detect a couple of faint hairlines caused by sleeve removal. This coloured vinyl is visually stunning and there are certainly no scratches.
Play grading
The audio on S1 plays with superb clarity and power and practically no 'background'. 'Black Dog' has 3/4 dust ticks on the intro and from thereon plays with perfect precision as does 'Rock and Roll' which is just stunning in its power and depth. 'The Battle of Evermore' has a minor hint of static on the intro and then plays with 'high end' audio and no interference and the fade out plays perfectly giving you a good idea of the quality of the vinyl. The long quiet intro on 'Stairway to Heaven' is just stunning, the clarity and warmth of the sound is just so good. This quality continues as the music builds with only a little distortion on the top end and what is very impressive is that the very quiet end section has no 'background'. A superb end to a classic track.
'Misty Mountain Hop' on S2 has no lead in static and then has audio of a wonderful standard and no interference ineterference whatsoever. 'Four Sticks' then plays to the same standard with just a minor hint of static on the fade out and I do mean minor! 'Going To California' has the odd mega light dust tick but is definitely not intrusive and plays with great clarity overall for such a quiet track. No clicks, pops or crackle. 'When the Levee Breaks' has a little distortion on the 'top end' but remains a superb listen nonetheless with no other interference.
Gatefold cover
The gatefold is in superb condition overall and the edges and spine have no wear to speak of. The opening edge is also super clean as is the inside of the gatefold. The only wear is a couple of small scuff marks on the top left corner which also has a sticker removal mark. There is another on the right hand side which is where the original 'lilac coloured vinyl' sticker would have been.
Inner sleeve
This incredibly has no splits to the sides and is in superb shape after all these years. There are a couple of very minor creases only on the top edge, mega minor!
The labels
They are both very clean with no writing. The S2 label has a small number of faint marks that can only be seen when held at a certain angle.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable // B & W 684 Speakers
