Led Zeppelin IV A3 / B4 Red / Plum Pressing w/ Inverted Feather on S2
This very collectable early red / plum pressing plays with superb audio and there are no clicks or pops getting in the way.  There is only minimal static / distortion on the two final tracks but it is hardly intrusive.  The vast majority of this classic album plays with stunning clarity, depth and power and there is a lot to like!  The vinyl is also in great condition with only some light hairlines and has clearly been very well looked after.
The iconic cover is in excellent condition with only minimal wear and the grey inner sleeve has to be one of the finest I have seen in a long time with only one small split on the bottom edge.    Known as Version 7 this red / plum pressing has the Inverted Feather on S2 and 'Hop' is spelt correctly also on the S2 label.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition with a strong glossy sheen and no marks or scratches.  Under a bright light there are a few faint hairlines but there is nothing that stands out.  In a more 'forgiving' light it is stunning!  There is no groove wear or 'bag rash' and the iconic red / plum labels have minimal spindle wear on S1 and just a little more on S2.  They have lost none of their original deep colouring.
Play Grading
The initial intro on 'Black Dog' plays perfectly and Plant's opening vocal section has no background either.  Page's first riff has no intrusion and it continues to play with real power and depth.  There is one very minor static 'moment' for one second during the first 'quieter' section but from start to finish there are no ticks, clicks or pops and the clarity of sound is so impressive.  A minor touch of very light static towards the end also but again so quiet and non-intrusive.  Page's final solo is stunning and there is no distortion on the top end.  The fade out is faultless and overall Near Mint is easily deserved.
The entire intro on 'Rock And Roll' plays with stunning precision and the first vocal is just as strong.  Bonham's 'sound' is so powerful here and of course Jones adds so much to the sonic 'landscape' also.  The mid instrumental is phenomenal and in essence this classic could not play any better.  The power and definition of the audio is exceptional and you can easily hear the piano on the final third, an indication of the clarity on offer.  Right through to Bonham's final flourish and Page's final 'note' the playback cannot be faulted.  A high end Mint- version at the very least.
The quiet build up on 'The Battle Of Evermore' is near perfect with only 3/4 very quiet statics at the beginning and Plant's opening vocal is very clean also.  Sandy Denny's vocal plays with great clarity also and that clarity is indeed very much in evidence through every vocal and instrumental section.  It is easily one of the cleanest versions I have heard and Mint- is very much deserved.
The acoustic intro on 'Stairway To Heaven' plays very clearly with only quiet background static here and there.  The opening two verses are of a very similar standard as is the first It makes me wonder... vocal.  It continues in much the same way - yes a little background static but it is quiet and the music still comes through very clearly.  As Bonham comes in the audio is superb - there is a great depth and warmth to the sound here and the fifth and sixth verses play with stunning quality, there is no static / distortion at all.  Page's next section does have a bit of a distorted sound but it is minimal and so common anyway, I've heard far worse!  His next solo plays with tremendous clarity and power and Plant's high octane vocal is superb!  No distortion, just outstanding power etc.  The final instrumental is faultless and the closing quiet vocal has barely any static.  I will grade as Ex overall but the second half in particular is stronger than that.

The intro on 'Misty Mountain Hop' is again so clean and the opening vocal is just as strong.  From then on it plays so clearly with no actual intrusion on the audio.  There is perhaps just a hint of distortion but I am probably being overly critical by even mentioning it because it is so so minor.  As my regulars know I mention any 'background' even if barely noticeable!  It is still a superb version and it you can play it loud and still soak in the very impressive sound quality.  No ticks, clicks, pops or static and Near Mint is fair.
The intro on 'Four Sticks' plays with sublime depth and power and the same can be said for the opening vocal section.  As the volume increases, with Jones' bass very much to the fore, the playback is stunning - so strong and deep and the definition of the audio is incredible.  It continues in the same precise way and the 'keyboard' section towards the end is of the same high end standard.  The final vocal is on the same level and it is obvious this track has hardly been played.  The fade out plays to perfection and it can only be described as Mint
The intro on 'Going To California' with Plant's single breath (!) plays with perfect clarity and the opening vocal section is equal to that.  There is no static distortion and the acoustic 'bridge' is just as clean.  From then on it plays with stunning clarity and again there is no background worthy of mention, 2 to 3 barely audible dust ticks at most.  It plays plays beautifully from start to finish with nothing to detract from the sound.  Oh a couple of minor statics at the end of the fade out so let's say Mint-
Bonham's intro on the classic 'When The Levee Breaks' has just one mega quiet tick and the rest of this opening section plays so well with only very minimal static distortion for a few seconds.  As any Led Zepp connoisseur will know this track often plays with a fair amount of distortion but so far so good here.  Plant's first vocal is so clean and the following instrumental is superb.  The first high octane vocal is strong and powerful with very little distortion and the next instrumental passage is again so impressive.  It continues in much the same way, the next vocal is strong and clear, and the closing section has no interference and only a minimal amount of the ubiquitous distortion you could say.  I do not want to appear negative - it does play with genuine quality from the first note to the last and like I say there is no actual interference and any collector would be very impressed by the sonic quality here.  It never and I mean never plays with 100% clarity and that is due to it being the final track on the side, a little inner groove distortion, and how it was recorded / produced.  It really should not be downgraded as a result and in my opinion Near Mint is a fair assessment of the audio.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in excellent condition with only minimal shelf wear and has retained its original shape and structure so well.  The edges have some light rubbing but it's really not that noticeable because it blends in with the colour.  The spine is still wide but slightly angled with only a little wear on the corners.  The right hand corners are in superb shape with hardly any wear and the opening edge has minimal handling wear.  The front cover is in lovely condition with no marking or creasing and the back cover is almost as good with only a couple of very small faint blemishes.  The inside of the gatefold is very clean also with very fading around the edges.  A superb example overall.
The original lyric inner is one of the best I have seen with no side splits or marking and just one small split on the bottom edge.  It has no tears either and the flipbacks are still firmly attached on the credits side.  A couple of minor creases but a stunning example for sure.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
