LED ZEPPELIN IV
Original UK vinyl release on Atlantic (cat. no. 2401012) from 1971
This is the elusive first label release with executive production credited to Peter Grant. Apparently Jimmy Page was very unhappy that Grant was credited so the copies already produced were stickered over until the next batch were printed removing Grant's credit. As you can see I have included pictures of all three original labels for identification.
The condition of the vinyl would be graded as very good - side one has some visible surface marks over the first two tracks which affects the sound, particularly on the quieter moments. There are no deep scratches. Side two is excellent with only a few very light surface marks. Both labels are immaculate with no writing.
The inner sleeve is excellent apart from a four inch split on the bottom seam. Because of the type of paper used it's really difficult to find a perfect inner. The outer gatefold sleeve is pretty good with no writing or tears but there is a degree of scuffing round the edges (and spine) and a mark top right where a sticker has been removed.
AS A FREE BONUS I WILL INCLUDE A COPY OF THE STICKERED VERSION (LABEL 2). IT'S IN TERRIBLE CONDITION AND COMES WITHOUT A SLEEVE BUT BOTH LABELS ARE CLEAN AND INTACT. THIS IS NOT FOR PLAYING!
