Description

This is a rare 1st pressing copy of “Led Zeppelin II” by Led Zeppelin, released in 1969 on the Atlantic label (588198). It features a light brown gate fold sleeve and red and maroon Atlantic labels with “The Lemon Song” and “Livin’ Lovin’ Wreck” miscredits.

 

I would grade the gate fold sleeve as “Very Good Minus”. There is edge wear to the top and bottom edges and to the spine, which is square but only partially legible. All 4 corners show bump wear. There is ring wear as well as spotting and mottling and 1 or 2 small creases to the outer cover. There is also some minor rippling to the rear cover near to the mouth of the sleeve. The inner cover is relatively clean though it does have some minor spotting and light mottling near to the top edge.

 

I would visually grade the disc as “Very Good“. It has a retained a very good shine but it does have a number of visible scuff marks. The play through grades as “Very Good”. There is some background noise in places and the occasional pop but no skips or jumps.

 

I would grade the labels as “Very Good Plus”. There is some light rub marking around the spindle hole on both sides as well as some spotting. There is little sign of spindle wear (see photos).

 

The paper anti-static inner sleeve is a new replacement.

 

 

Matrix: Side 1 – “588198 A?2” stamps “1”, “9” and “1”,

 

            Side 2 – “588198 B?2” stamps “2”, “3” and “9”

 

 

Classifications are in accordance with Record Collector Magazine’s Record Collector Grading System and are possibly slightly pessimistic compared to some other sellers/collectors.
