1st UK Press 1975 with machined matrices
A1 B4 C1 D1 stamped matrices
Red lettering on the spine indicating a true first press sleeve.
This package is complete with the original two photo inner sleeves and the cardboard lyric insert. This is an the very first issue with A1B4C1D1 matrices and NO Warner Brothers (WB) on the labels. Issues with B5 are actually a second press strictly speaking.
First press matrices A1 B4 C1 D1 with the earliest stampers.
Very First Edition Red writing on the Spine of sleeve,
JOANELINE MUSIC no Warner Credits Information on the back of the front cover is as follows: "SWAN SONG RECORDS / 484 KINGS ROAD, LONDON SW10"
DEADWAX SSK 89400 A1 // Ssk 89400 B4 // 89400 C1 // 89400 D1
Again all these are indicators for a first genuine press.
VINYLS ARE VG++ for vinyl 2 and EX for vinyl 1 AND RETAIN HIGH GLOSS SHINE
'Following the staggering reunion triumph at the O2, which I was lucky enough to be at, interest in Led Zeppelin has become greater than ever, with the site for the Ahmettribute.com tribute concert receiving an unbelievable 120 million hits, with 25 million people apparently registering for a Zeppelin ticket, its as good a time as any to invest in an original copy early press of this classic Zep album.'
Sleeve: VG+ to EX. The outer sleeve has all the die cuts of the windows. All the windows to the front are perfect and indeed razor sharp. The spine has its original red writing (later ones had black writing) and is 100% legible. Wear on the edges is very light only and I do believe that this is a very nice example indeed. There is some amount of wear on the corners though but this does definitely not detract from the beauty of this sleeve. The inner card insert with lyrics is in excellent condition with light yellowing. The inner picture cardboard sleeves are in EX condition although one has a tiny seam split to the top.
