LED ZEPPELIN
PHYSICAL GRAFFITI
RARE EARLY VERSION
This auction is for a rare early version of the classic Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti double album.
This copy was bought new by a good friend of mine back in the day and given to me around 1981 (I think I swapped it for Hawkwind's Space Ritual album!).
The catalogue number is K 89400 and this rare early version includes the following distinguishing features:-
· Original die cut windows cover, with the Swan Song Records address of 484 Kings Road, London SW10 and code of LC 2251
· Single fold inner sleeve, with satin finish on both sides and code SSK 89400
· Original pair of coloured record sleeves with the codes SSK 89 400 - 1 and SSK 89 400 - 2
· The actual vinyl records have the following very rare matrix codes -
Ø Side 1 - SSK - 89400 - A / 1
Ø Side 2 - WEA - 89400 - B - (hand engraved)
Ø Side 3 - SSK - 89400 - C
Ø Side 4 - SSK - 89400 - D
This album has been played vary sparingly over the years and not at all for maybe the last 30 years when it has been safely stored , so it remains in excellent condition throughout.
There is just some normal minor wear evident on the sleeves and additionally the front outer sleeve has 2 small stickers (one in each top corner) that have been there since new.
The one in the top left corner is a "Permostat" sticker, showing that it had been treated with this 1970's anti static treatment. The one in the top left corner says "584" and I am not sure what this means.
Both of these stickers may well peel off, but I have not tried to do this and I actually think they add a nice original touch from the 1970's.
Both vinyls remain in great clean condition, with no real visible flaws.
Over the last 40+ years I have built up a very large collection of Records, CD's, rock memorabilia and other items, but now sadly I am having to sell the majority of it.
Over the next few months I will therefore be selling loads of great Records, CD's, T Shirts, Badges, Patches, Programme's etc so do keep any eye on my other items for sale and also my upcoming auctions.
The album will be securely packaged in a purpose built cardboard box, to ensure it is not damaged in transit.
This is a very rare original record, in excellent condition, but it is here to be sold and I am selling with NO RESERVE PRICE and a low starting price, so someone could get a bargain.
Please do not hesitate in e-mailing me if you have any questions to ask.
Thank you for looking and happy bidding.
