LED ZEPPELIN "Presence" Original 1976 U.S. Swan Song gatefold LP w/promo sticker & clipped upper right corner. Stereo SS-8416. M/M.
From their inception in 1968, through the decade of the 70s, Led Zeppelin were at the pinnacle of rock's hierarchy. With Jimmy Page on lead guitar & production, Robert Plant on vocals, John Paul Jones on bass & keyboards & John Bonham on powerhouse drums, they epitomized the definition of a supergroup & virtually coined the term of Heavy Metal although their music also contained elements of psychedelic, blues, English folk & rockabilly styles. They recorded 8 studio albums of new material during this time but were brought to a halt by the sudden death of John Bonham in 1980. This 7 cut LP, their 7th studio album was released by Swan Song, their custom label distributed by Atlantic Records in 1976. Original pressing with the gatefold cover & the custom inner sleeve issued as a promo copy with the clear rectangular title sticker on the right side, an orange 2" round promo sticker in the upper left corner & a neatly clipped upper right corner. I worked at Atlantic Records at 75 Rockefeller Plaza, NYC at the time & was given this early pressing right after the release of the record.

Gatefold cover has the 2 1/2" x 3" rectangular clear title sticker (usually affixed to the shrink wrap) on the upper right side plus a 2" round promo sticker on the upper left side & a neatly clipped upper right corner which denoted that it was a promotional copy- rated at MINT. The record looks & sounds great with no scratches or scuffs. Rating is MINT. Colorful Swan Song labels are in great shape. Special inner sleeve is near MINT with a matching clipped upper right corner & a 1" split seam on the middle of the left side.. Only played once when new!
