Led Zeppelin : Physical Graffiti A1 / B4 / C2 / D1 Early Pressing No Warner Logo
This early pressing plays to a very high standard for the vast majority. You certainly cannot criticise the power and depth of the audio, it is stunning. You can turn it up to max and there is no distortion on any of the four sides. The clarity overall is very impressive but there is a little static here and there on S3 and S4 but nothing intrusive. There is also one pop on S1 but that is the only thing that stops all of S1 grading as Mint as the rest of it plays with incredible sonic quality. If you're looking for the definitive version of 'Kashmir' then look no further! This version is absolutely stunning with no background of any kind.
The die-cut cover is one of the finest I have seen with very little wear and we all know how rare that is! The two page insert (with two folds at the bottom) and the two custom inners are also in superb condition.
This has a C2 stamper on S3 - a genuine first press has C1 but that is the only difference, the other stampers are the same. This early pressing also has no Warner (W) logo on the labels. This cover still has the Swan Song address on the back cover near the top edge.

Visual description
The vinyls are in excellent condition and still have a very strong glossy sheen with no scratches. Under a bright light there are a few faint hairlines and a couple on S3 and S3 that are a little more obvious. They are superficial though being hairlines not scratches! The run out grooves are very clean and the Swan Song labels are as close to perfect as is possible with barely any spindle wear.
Play grading
The intro on 'Custard Pie' plays perfectly and Plant's opening vocal is equal to that. It continues to play with tremendous power and depth and you cannot fault the clarity either. An example of this power is near the end where Bonham hits really hard! The power here is tangible, it is so loud and reverberates around the room massively! From start to finish there is no background, not one dust tick. A Mint version.
'The Rover' plays with genuine quality through every section. I turned it up to 'loud' and there is no distortion on the top end. The depth of sound is so strong and again there is no intrusion on the audio not even on the long fade out. Mint
The quiet intro on 'In My Time Of Dying' plays so clearly to begin with but does have a loud dull pop sound just before the volume increases. Bizarre really because there is nothing on the vinyl causing it and I have looked very carefully. The next section plays without fault and then the first quiet opening vocal has only a handful of mega quiet statics. From then on the sonic quality is STUNNING! The next vocal is 'as new' and then the long high octane instrumental is outstanding! I cannot overstate how just well this entire section plays - the audio is so clean and crisp and the power is on another level! Never heard better. The end section plays with stunning precision as does the 'cough' / spoken piece. I will grade the intro as VG- but from then on Mint is well deserved. This classic is so close to perfect if not for that one millisecond of interference! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Houses Of The Holy' plays with superb sound and no interference. I only noticed the lightest hint of barely audible static on a handful of occasions so I will grade as Mint- accordingly.
'Trampled Under Foot' plays without fault - no background whatsoever. The power, depth and clarity is immense! Mint
The classic 'Kashmir' plays with a sonic quality sent from the rock Gods!! This is quite simply the most STUNNING version you are ever likely to hear! The clarity, definition and power of the audio is second to none and it is the most 'complete' version I have ever heard. It so often plays with some distortion but not here. I cannot find one negative and I am confident in grading it as Mint and that includes the long fade out also. Wow!

The 'Eastern' intro on 'In The Light' plays beautifully with no intrusion apart from a couple of barely audible dust ticks and then the first verse vocal is near perfect with just two very light statics. The next vocal is indeed perfect and what really strikes you is the sheer depth and warmth of the sound. Immaculate playback! The mid instrumental including the next 'eastern' section is so clean and the following vocal has only 3/4 minor statics, totally non-intrusive. The remainder of this classic plays so clearly with only a couple of minor static ticks and overall Near Mint is an honest assessment of the audio. No clicks or pops just a small number of insignificant light ticks
'Bron - Yr - Aur' plays with great precision and is so so close to Mint. I will say Near Mint because I did hear a couple of mega quiet ticks plus another at the end which is a little more obvious.
The intro on 'Down by The Seaside' has the bare minimum of light static. From then on it plays very clearly but there is some background static here and there mainly on the first half of the track but certainly nothing loud. Ex+
The quiet intro on 'Ten Years Gone' plays so clearly with only minimal light. As the volume increases the playback is perfect and the next quiet section just has a little more static for a couple of seconds. The opening vocal has no background and it continues to play with great quality and no interference. The high octane vocal section plays superbly with real depth and power and final quiet vocal plays very clearly with hardly any static. The majority here plays with stunning quality but I will say Ex+ overall.

'Night Flight' on S4 has just light static on the intro for the first two seconds and then plays with impeccable quality from then onwards. Very strong vocals and again sublime power and depth. Mint-
'The Wanton Song' is more or less perfect with only a couple of minor statics that you could easily miss. Actually the more I listen to it the more impressed I am! Superb sonic quality here, great depth and has to played loud! Mint-
The next track 'Boogie With Stu' plays with stunning precision for the vast majority. A handful of barely audible ticks and just a little static towards the end so I will say Near Mint-
There is some static in the spoken section before 'Black Country Woman' starts but the intro then plays with only light background static. The first vocal is the same and once Bonham comes in the audio is superb as is the rest of the track bar one click near the end. Great drumming here but that's no surprise I guess! Ex
'Sick Again' has only minimal light static on the intro and then plays with incredible power and depth from then on. Every vocal and instrumental section plays with genuine quality and there is no intrusion on the audio. I'd forgotten how good this track is! Lyrically a bit dodgy maybe but a great track regardless. Awesome power here! An Ex+ intro and Mint- from then on.
The Die-Cut Cover, 2 Page Insert & Inner Sleeves
This iconic cover is definitely one of the best I have seen and has retained its original shape and structure perfectly. The wide edges / spines are in superb shape and as per the first / early pressings it has the red lettering on the 'left' spine. Only the two top edges have a minimal amount of wear and I do mean minimal! The two bottom ones have barely any. The front cover is unmarked and has just one tiny compression next to the top edges and the 'windows' on both sides are perfectly intact with no splits etc. The back cover is so often marked / worn quite a lot near the top edge but it is so clean here with only a mega tiny rub by the top edge and a minor faint creasing top right. A stunning example and I think it grades as Ex++ at the very least.
The 2 page folded insert is in fantastic condition with only a handful of small faint spots on the reverse side. There is no other marking or creasing. The two inner sleeves are perfect with no marking or creasing.
Play tested on my Rega P2 with AT VM95EN Cart / Denon PMA-520AE Amp / B&W 684 Speakers
The records have been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
