Look At This Special one even though it's second release.!.!
Look at the dead wax, you can see a crossed-out matrix number: 588171 with an X stamped/etched right over the first digit (or part of the prefix), alongside A//1.
This is the famous uncorrected matrix error!
When Polydor pressed the very first batch of Led Zeppelin I in the UK in 1969, the plant made a mistake on Side 1 and accidentally stamped/etched the wrong catalog prefix. To fix it quickly, they stamped an X over the error and corrected it.
The Matrix Stamp: Shows 588171 A//1 with the crossed-out character (X 588171 A//1 or 588171 A//1 with an X correction).
The Significance: Copies with this crossed-out matrix were pressed during the very first production run in early 1969.
Even though your center label has the updated Warner Bros./7 Arts publishing credit (making the label itself a 2nd state label), the vinyl disc itself comes from the earliest 1st pressing stampers/masters!
