LEE MORGAN "Lee Morgan, Vol. 3" Blue Note 1557, DG, P, RVG Vinyl
This is the 1957, first edition, Deep Groove, "RVG" etched, Laminated cover, "P"-pressing of LEE MORGAN's "Lee Morgan, Vol. 3" on the "47 West 63rd" labels of Blue Note BLP 1557. Musicians include Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Gigi Gryce, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, Charlie Persip.
HEAVY-WEIGHT VINYL plays with consistent low-level surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks, beneath the music. Ensemble Instrumental sections are dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and full clear tone. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Vinyl looks worn but clean. Handful of surface marks, none feelable (generally speaking, if you can't feel it, you can't hear it). The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd" labels are clean with spindle marks. See photos.
COVER is in good condition, some laminate peeling. Corners worn. 2" tape on both seams and spine. 2" splits on top spine and top seam. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd, New York 23" back jacket shows aging, tape, writing, but relatively clean condition. Please see photos.
