Up for bids is an original Mono Jazz LP by Lee Morgan called "Lee-Way" on Blue Note Records. BLP 4034. 1960.
Featuring Jackie McLean on alto sax.
ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSING WITH "43 West 61st Street, New York 23" on back of cover's bottom-center, and "47 WEST 63rd • NYC" on both labels.
DEEP GROOVE PRESSING!
Front of cover is laminated.
Record's edges are raised.
Both labels have the "?" symbol.
Matrix (or trail-off) numbers have the "ear" followed by a stamped "RVG" then finally an etched "BN-LP-4034 ? A - 1" for Side 1, and the "ear" followed by a stamped "RVG" then finally an etched "BN-LP-4034?B - 1" for Side 2.
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in Fair condition. Front and back have some wear. Top of cover has a 2 1/4" split by the spine and a 3 1/4" split at the opening. Bottom of cover has sustained some heavy water damage which has also caused some staining. Bottom of cover also has three staples holding it together and some old clear tape. Spine has a 2 1/4" split up top, a 2 7/8" split in its center and a 1 3/8" split at th e bottom. Much artwork on the spine is lost.
I would rate the record’s condition as Good++ to VG. Has marks and scratches. Some scratches are deep. Side 1 and 2 both have these tiny but deep gashes that will cause ticking. They don't skip on my player, though I can not guarantee they won't on yours. Side 1's label has some tiny staining up top. Despite the imperfections, record still has plenty of fidelity and sounds really nice on my player!
Makes a great gift for any Lee Morgan, Jackie McLean or Blue Note Jazz fan!
