Description

RARITY:-  Quite simply the RAREST UK Electric Blues / Prog LP ever.  Less than 99 copies were ever made!  It was never EVER released, and only available to those who ordered one on the weekend of the 'Peacock Farm Free Concert' in 1969!  It was pressed to order ONLY - and all the covers were 'hand made'.  This LP is in the same rarity league as Leafhound, The Dark, and other LPs which were either withdrawn immediately - or only a handful were ever made.  Certainly this LP was never made in enough quantity to make the UK tax laws applicable (100 copies) - and it is almost certain that as few as 50 copies were ordered and pressed.  It was made by the TINY 'County Recording Service' label - who pressed any privately ordered LP to order.  Features some INCREDIBLE bands too - who didnt ever quite make the big time (though they all supported bigger names on tours at the time - such as Chickenshack), but certainly should have done!!!!  These include:-  Leeve Camp Moan, John Thomas Blues Band, Thomas Houlihan, and the mighty St James Infirmary!!!!  Not only that but the music is absolutely SUPERB - and this is one LP which is well worth a listen!!!!  This will surely be your ONLY chance to own this AMAZING rarity - so dont miss out!!!!

TRACKS & DESCRIPTION:-

SIDE 1:-  1) LEEVE CAMP MOAN 'De Boogie' (Great extended Electric Blues track with some Canned Lyrics thrown in for good measure! Extended Electric Blues boogie with strong vocals)   2) LEEVE CAMP MOAN 'Whiskey Tumble' (One of the STAND OUT TRACKS on the LP.  Amazing electric guitar solos especially in the middle 2 or 3 minutes!  Starts off as fairly standard Electric Blues, but quickly explodes into Prog territory with SUPERB competing guitar solos and AWESOME music!).

SIDE 2:-  1) John Thomas Blues Band 'Weary Baby'  (Another stand out track on the LP. Top quality electric blues with SUPERB guitar work!)  2) Thomas Houlihan 'Trouble, Had It All My Days' (This one is more Country Blues in style - but is actually rather good!  It is also self penned and well worth a listen!)  3) Frank Gillibrand 'Capricho Arabe' (OK - surely every LP is entitled to 1 duff track?  Unless you are into some pretty weak 'classical guitar' this one is well worth skipping!  Moving swiftly on....)  4) St James Infirmary 'Sunshine Help Me' (Another STAND OUT track on this LP.  A very decent cover of Spooky Tooth's track from their first LP - it is organ & guitar biased with some SUPERB guitar solos too!  A really REALLY good example of taking a Psych track well into VERY high quality prog territory!).

COUNTRY:-  UK

PRESSING:-  (MONO) 1ST PRESS - Never released, and only avaliable at the 'Free Concert' itself for order.  Certainly no more than 99 copies made, and probably far less!  Comes in a 'hand made' Gatefold cover + plain inside (as made) - with a SUPERB picture of the band on the outer gatefold.  'Textured' County label & STAMPED matrixes.  Vinyl is extremely heavy!  Reputedly some copies came with an insert to stick on the inside of the cover - but as no one has ever seen or heard of this insert, it is highly likely that this was simply a myth (or it was intended by the band but never made) - and invented to cover up the fact that this LP was indeed 'hand made' and the inside of the gatefold is supposed to look plain (which it should do!).  Incidentally the line of 'masking' running up the inside of the gatefold is NOT A REPAIR.  It runs under the front cover picture, and EXACTLY as this cover was constructed in 1969!  An AMAZING LP - and a 100% GENIUNE 1st Pressing in every respect!

ARTIST:-  LEEVE CAMP MOAN, JOHN THOMAS BLUES BAND, ST JAMES INFIRMARY, & OTHERS.

TITLE:-  'PEACOCK FARM - FREE CONCERT' (LIVE RECORDINGS MADE AT THE PEACOCK FARM FREE CONCERT)

CAT NUMBER:-  COUN LP 158/9

LABEL:-  COUNTY

DATE:- 1969

SIGNS OF PLAY:-  MODERATE

LABELS:-  EX+

GRADING:-   VG+ if not better! (Graded directly under a 150 watt bulb!).  A VERY nice example indeed!  Has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, only 2 or 3 VERY light scufflines, and only a few of the VERY light paper scuffs only visible under light!  Typically of private pressings of this VERY early period - the vinyl is massively thick, and has slight 'dappling/dulling' under light.  This is exactly as manufactured, and does NOT affect play in the slightest!  And for a private pressing of this period - it plays EXTREMELY well, with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO distortion, NO sticks, NO jumps, and only very VERY low level background sound in places.  Most importantly there is NO sounding marks AT ALL, and NO 'frying bacon' crackle AT ALL - which usually found on private pressings from this era, so it is very welcome to find NONE of this AT ALL!  A VERY decent record indeed!

INNER:-  Original inner sleeve in BRILLIANT condition - which just a few expected creases.  No rips, NO tears, NO writing, etc.

COVER:-  VG+ if not better - and a very VERY decent cover indeed!  Of course, the chances of ever finding another one is virtually ZERO, so in this case it is nice to find that this cover is very VERY decent indeed!  It was 'hand made' so as expected, there is a few 'wrinkles' near the spine, where the bands picture was stuck onto the cover front.  It has NO edge wear, only VERY slight spinal wear (but NO splits!), NO ringwear, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking indeed!), only VERY slight corner wear, barely ANY feathering AT ALL to the opening edges, and NO writing!  There are also NO rips, NO sticker marks (as this LP was never sold in a shop), NO splits and NO annotations!  The plain inside is still VERY nice indeed, with the masking on the inside spine (AS MADE!) holding PERFECTLY, and the internal flipbacks being undamaged!  Cover back is VERY decent indeed - with NO ringwear, NO rubbing, only 3 or 4 almost INVISIBLE 'touched in' traces along the spinal edge (these are almost impossible to notice!), barely ANY yellowing, NO annotations, and NO writing!  A VERY decent cover indeed!

DEFECTS OUTSIDE OF THE GRADE GIVEN:-  N/A

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items (I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!) - PLEASE REMEMBER to contact with me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy!  Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again - Graham @ XXXRecords.   PLEASE NOTE - Private feedback bidders must consult me first prior to bidding - due to previous problems regarding non-payment, and non-receipt.   MY POSTAGE UNDERCHARGE GUARANTEE TO ALL BUYERS (I always undercharge on postage!):-  Due to UK Royal Mail's obscene price increases this year - I have had no choice but to increase postage charges a little.  Until this year - I had kept them exactly the same since I joined ebay back in 2002.  However this years price increases have been so obscene, that I have had no choice but to increase my postage charges for the first time ever.  However PLEASE NOTE - my absolute 100% guarantee to you as a buyer - is that I will ALWAYS undercharge postage on everything I send out.  Even after the increases, I am still charging you the buyer LESS than I am being charged myself.  On each package I send out - the price is clearly stated on the front of the package (please check it when you recieve it!).  I also do NOT charge for packaging costs - ONLY for postal costs!  And should you find that I have overcharged you postage in ANY way - I will refund DOUBLE the difference.  THAT IS MY 100% POSTAL GUARANTEE FOR EACH AND EVERY BUYER!  No buyer EVER deserves to be overcharged on postage - and on my listings, I'll make sure they are ALWAYS undercharged.  Any questions - please ask!
