Description
This is a very good original U.S. pressing copy of the rare second and final LP by NYC-based group the Left Banke, released in early 1968. The group is remembered today for their two 1966 hits, "Walk Away Renee" and "Pretty Ballerina," which helped define the sound of late '60s "baroque pop." Reduced to a trio for their sophomore effort, and with only minimal participation by original keyboardist and principle songwriter Michael Brown, the group isn't as distinctive here as they were on their debut. The album has its moments, though, notably the two singles "Desiree" (a Brown composition) and "Goodbye Holly," and the cover pix of the group decked out in Georgian frills are striking. The jacket has one main flaw: a couple of splits (4” and 2”) in the top seam. It's otherwise in fine overall condition with a small cutout hole, and light ring, corner, bottom seam, and edge wear (VG+). The disc has some scraping, scuffing, and loss of glossiness, and plays with steady, mostly light surface noise (VG+).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
