DEUX MOIS C'EST LONG / LA (NOUVELLE) GUERRE DE CENT ANS / PUBLICITE / TOI TU ME SOURIS ... 7-inch, 45rpm EP single by LES MISSILES. Original French biem pressing on the DUCRETET THOMSON label (460V 714), from 1966. Desirable release by this cult French group and maybe their finest moment on wax. A delicious mix of garage freakbeat / funky yéyé and psychedelic pop themes. Features the killer mod club tune PUBLICITE with raw lead vocals / goulish horror backing shouts and splashes of scat over agitated / amphetamine inspired rhythm hooks with Farfisa organ. Tres cool and sleazy rock sound. Great for DJs and as good as anything from the Le Beat Bespoke series. LA (NOUVELLE) GUERRE DE CENT ANS theme is also superb. Super-infectious and funky with a mesmerising groove featuring boom bap-esque drums / slick guitar and groovy bassline / vocals and counterpoint la-la-la scat harmony. We have also recorded the psych tinged TOI TU ME SOURIS as the beautiful vocal phrasing and spiralling 'tick tock' beat is really quite bewitching. DEUX MOIS C'EST LONG is a French pop cum teen dancehall shoe shuffler with cinematic strings et al. Fabulous picture sleeve artwork showing these French hipsters too ;) Rare EP!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition with hairlines and faint scuffs. Light surface noises. Booming production sound. Ink stamp to front sleeve and both sides of the label. Small 'x' notation to tracklisting to both sides of the label. The laminated flipback picture sleeve is closer to M- condition overall with archive number in pen to front and back sleeve. No languette. Minimal wear. Some natural age discoloration. Rare EP!!!
