Washington DC: Library of Congress 1949. 12 inch vinyl records, 78RPM VG/- In album with sleeves bound to spine and liner notes on separate sheets. The disks are numbered P21 through P25.
This set features, on
P21: John Crowe Ransom (Bells for John Whitesides' Daughter, Janet Waking, Here Lies a Lady, Captain Carpenter),
P22: William Meredith (String Quartet, Carrier, Battlewagon, Transport),
P23: Yvor Winters (Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, John Sutter, Time and the Garden, The California Oaks),
P24: Randall Jarrell ((Lady Bates, Stalag Luft), and
P25: Karl Shapiro (Elegy for a Dead Soldier).
Some wear and scuffing to covers of album, corners bumped, front cover partly detached. LPs themselves seem to suffer from no visible defects. They are dusty somewhat and require only a sound cleaning, but there appear to be no surface scratching or scuffing. None of them appears ever to have been played. A good cleaning should restore them to as good as new. The liner notes are complete as issued.
