Proud to present, from the top table of my own collection, an absolutely lovely copy of Linda’s sole solo LP.  Not only a rare LP but one of the better highly prized Swirl titles.  Musically, certainly head & shoulders above Dr Z, Ben or Gordon, and not far behind the previous year’s Affinity which Linda fronted.  If you’ve been looking for a superbly clean, near unblemished disc coupled with a very fine sleeve then look no further, THIS IS A SUPERB COPY both looks and sounds tremendous!

The non-laminated, gatefold sleeve is SO much better than 90% of the examples you’ve seen for this LP.  As you will know, UK Vertigo Swirl sleeves – and particularly those with a dark background (for example, the 1st Cressida LP) really suffer from excessive rubbing and fading if not properly stored and looked after.  Well, I’m happy to report that this copy shows ONLY MINIMAL rubs.  Firstly (as I do with all premium listings), I’ll outline the signs of age AWAY from a true MINT grade:  there is ONE (only) soft crease to the bottom half of the front; there is a TINY spot of paper loss to the bottom rear; only very faint storage rubs to the top edges; slightly more visible rubs to the bottom edges though by no means severe or even moderate. Also very light corner rubs (see photos) but overall corners still maintain near to full 90 degree definition.  The black background print of both the front and rear panels remains deep and without fading or scrapes.  The sleeve is structurally near perfect it lies flat WITHOUT ripples, bends or bumps.  NO rips, nicks, tears, NO splits.  The spine is pretty much PERFECT – no compression, nicks, bleaching or creasing.  SUPERB SPINE!   There is very little, if any, evidence of ring impression, NO writing, NO residue and NONE of the sticker pulls so common to the top front right corner of UK Swirl LPs.  I’m confident that this sleeve will satisfy most top grade collectors and although there are minor signs of age, it’s so satisfying in that it’s lovely and flat, square, superbly defined and with very little evidence of handling and use during its 42 years of existence.  Many would go EX+ or close to Mint (especially when compared to other examples) but I’m proud of my EX grading – I see it as still a top grade so that’s what I’ll go with.  This great sleeve is in true, honest and pleasing EX (Excellent) condition.

The Swirl labels are as good as you could hope for.  NO writing, no stickers, residue, pulls or rips.  No damage at all and also, from what I can make out, ONLY ONE tiny spindle trail to one side only.  Incredible pair of these vintage labels!!

The medium weight vinyl is a DAZZLING example.  The sleeve condition gives evidence that, during its life, this has been a seldom used disc.  The labels back this up.  And the look of the vinyl adds further credence to the statement that I think this has hardly been played.  Another factor suggesting such is that when you go to place the disc on the turntable (as I have done just the once for play testing), the centre hole is still TIGHT AROUND THE SPINDLE!  Visually, this will surely please – don’t want to use the clichéd ‘jet black, mirror surfaces (!)’ but this is pretty much what we have here.  Possibly a couple of super fine, faint scuffs if you stare at the surfaces for hours, and possibly some fine sleeve removal lines if you hold it into direct daylight but really, this looks NEAR TO NEW.  Beautiful shine, NO scratches, NO nasty marks, NO embedded dirt and NO dust pockets, craters or dimples.  Visually, I’m confident you’ll agree with me when I give it a lovely M- (Mint Minus) grading.

IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENEDTO THROUGHOUT!  I’m happy to report there is next to nothing to impair your listening enjoyment of this LP.  Maybe a little super quiet surface/faint dust tick in the gentle sections, maybe not... I picked up a single click to Side 2/Track 3 and a couple of quickfire pops right at the end of ‘Barrel House Music’ at the end of the LP.  At least I tell you about ALL audio issues - and that’s all there is.  It’s a very quiet LP in parts and there is NO snap, crackle or hiss, NO whoosh, NO repeated clicks, NO distortion, loss of clarity or lack of definition.  And it’s a great album – some seriously great songs here.  Play grade is close to the very fine visual one –EX+ (Excellent Plus). A lovely listen!

Supplied in its original 0671 (June 1971) poly-lined Swirl inner (in EX state, just slight edge browning), this is a very fine example of this hard to find UK Vertigo Swirl.
