Description
For sale is LIONEL HAMPTON's "Bossa Nova Jazz," on Glad Hamp Records GHLP-1004, MONO, DG, 1963. With Carmen Costa and Jose Paulo.
SOUND: NM It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The sound is clean and clear, near-perfect with one caveat: a very soft tic during A3, "Sambolero." Very slight, lasts for 30 seconds, tops. I repeat: except for that, a near-perfect playback!
VINYL: VG+ There is a scuff on side A, in cuts 3-4. This corresponds with the very soft tic I described above. I tried repeatedly and I could not feel the scuff, but conservatively I graded the vinyl "VG+" The rest of the vinyl, both sides, is near-perfect: clean, glossy, newish looking. The baby-blue "Glad Hamp" labels are clean and bright, with a couple spindle marks.
JACKET: VG+/NM The edges and spine are in solid, lovely condition. The four corners have a touch of routine wear. Front laminated cover and back are clean and unmarked, with minimal signs of age/wear. Overall, very nice-looking jacket.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
Beautiful vinyl, jacket and playback. Buy-it-now for $25.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
