Description
Liz Phair 'Yo Yo Buddy Yup Yup Word to Ya Muthuh' cassette, 1991.
Recently unearthed from a box of 80's/90's tapes comes this original copy of Liz Phair's first home recordings. Super lo-fi with obligatory tape hiss and photocopied cover. A real time-capsule, these recordings have become legendary, and were of course responsible for her getting signed to Matador...
I don't know the history of the different 'editions' of this, and the only cover image floating around on t'internet for this one has a black and white creepy face on it. This copy, as you can see, has a picture of Liz on pink paper. Tape has hand-written (by LP??) labels made of black masking-tape.
Both tape and insert are in very nice NM condition. Tape box has a cracked corner (obviously this is easy to replace but I thought the winner would want the original one, regardless).
I play-tested the first couple of songs and the tape plays/sounds great.
For more detailed info on the history/ significance of this tape, read the Wikipedia page on it.
Postage will be $5 in US, or $23 for registered international.
Please fear not when buying from me- I worked at a record shop for years, so I know how to grade records; and I've been buying through the mail for even longer, so I know how to package them as well...
Note: U.S. POSTAGE RATES HAVE GONE UP! (alas) Ignore what Ebay says... and please WAIT FOR INVOICE.
Postage: 12": US $5/ Can/Mex $15/ World $20. 7": US: $3/ Can/Mex $10/ World $15.
If you are in ITALY, FRANCE or GREECE, you may have to pay extra for registered shipping. Sorry; notorious mail services. Same is true if you have NO/ FEW/ BAD feedback(s).
And yes, I will separate record from cover when packaging (unless sealed).
Gradings based on M/ NM/ EX(i.e. VG++)/ VG+/ VG/ VG- etc... Please pay within 3 DAYS, or contact me if you need more time to do so.
I will leave you feedback after i know that you are happy with your purchase.
Thanks for looking.
