Description:
Up for sale is a certified, collector-grade US Original 1st Pressing of the monumental 1989 Hip-Hop masterpiece "Walking With A Panther" by the undisputed pioneer LL Cool J, released on the classic dark maroon Def Jam Recordings / Columbia Records label (Cat# C 45274).
Produced and arranged almost entirely by Dwayne Simon alongside LL Cool J (produced by Dwayne Simon and LL Cool J for L.L. Cool J Productions) with production assistance from The Bomb Squad, this platinum-selling album is a defining cornerstone of Golden Era Hip-Hop. Features historic street anthems and crossover hits like "Going Back to Cali", "I'm That Type of Guy", "Jingling Baby", and the ultimate оld-school party shaker "Big Ole Butt".
This true analog first pressing was cut directly from the original master reels, featuring the official stamped "MASTERDISK" logo alongside the hand-etched initials "RP" of legendary mastering engineer Richie Paul in the deadwax. High-quality pressing from Columbia's acclaimed Carrollton, Georgia plant (indicated by the stamped "G" code in runouts).
This spectacular copy remains housed in its original factory shrink wrap, beautifully protecting the iconic brick-lane picture sleeve from any edge wear, ring wear, or corner splitting. It also retains an original vintage retail price tag from "Sounds of Market". Comes complete with its original custom photo/credits inner sleeve.
A magnificent, bass-heavy analog spinner in premier cosmetic shape for any serious Old School Rap, Def Jam, or 1980s Hip-Hop history vinyl completist!

Condition Report:
-
Vinyl Condition: VG+ (Very Good Plus). Beautiful glossy vinyl record retaining a strong original factory shine. Under close inspection beneath bright direct light, it shows only a few minor, faint paper sleeve scuffs and superficial cosmetic hairlines that do not affect playback. The classic brown Def Jam labels are exceptionally clean, sharp, and completely free of any writing, stamps, or stickers (as seen in DSC09354.jpg and DSC09356.jpg). Spindle hole shows minimal wear. Plays with immense analog power, sharp punchy mid-range, and hard-hitting 808 sub-bass punch.
-
Cover Condition: EX / NM (In Shrink). Absolutely fantastic cardboard jacket. Preserved beneath its original factory shrink wrap since 1989, protecting the picture sleeve from any fading, ring wear, or corner splitting. Corners are sharp and rigid, and the spine remains fully intact and completely legible. Reverse side is perfectly clean beneath the shrink with the promotional-style notation over the print. An exceptional copy.
