LLOYD MILLER AND THE MIKE JOHNSON QUARTET JAZZ AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH 2017 NOW AGAIN RECORDS NA 5168 Opened but never played. Shrink wrap was slightly peeled back for autographed and then lightly taped back up. With download card and illustrated 15-page booklet.
On April 21st (this past 11th annual record store day) Lloyd Miller showed up at a local record store here in Salt Lake City, arriving with a briefcase containing several original pressings of his work. He had 3 copies of Oriental Jazz and these were the last of what he had been storing away. The store was selling the 2017 re-issue of the University of Jazz with Mike Johnson and I purchased 2 copies along with one of the Oriental Jazz records directly from Mr. Lloyd (who shared an amusing anecdote about Bud Powell)....I don't have any photo's of the occasion unfortunately, but please see my 100% positive feedback. (Also, a simple search on the internet will provide the facts that Mr. Miller was there autographing records). The Oriental Jazz record is one of the holy grails of jazz vinyl collecting for this unusual pairing of eastern and western influences. No re-issues exist. Hypnotic & hauntingly beautiful, this record was kept in excellent condition by any standards with only light inconsequential paper scuff marks. Vinyl is super-clean and glossy with near mint labels. The cover is near mint with no defects. Autographed front and back with a fine sharpie. The 2017 Utah University Jazz re-issue was autographed (fine sharpie) in the front under the shrink wrap and then I taped the shrink back together lightly. Comes with download card & illustrated 15 page booklet about the fascinating life of this unlikely jazz icon, from his early days of living in Iran & Paris and then pressing his own records here in Salt Lake City.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO REVIEW MY 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AS A RECORD SELLER. I AM PROUD OF MY FEEDBACK AND STRIVE TO SELL ONLY QUALITY VINYL I AM KNOWN TO GRADE CONSERVATIVELY AND FAIRLY.
RECORD GRADING IS AS FOLLOWS: VG+ = A record that will be slightly to medium noisy in spots, but overall not noisy enough to distract from the music. There will perhaps be some surface and hairline marks, but again, not deep enough to cause a pop or tic. (MY VG+ record will have NO tics or major pops) There may be paper scuff marks on the vinyl. The original 'gloss' or shiny luster will be faded somewhat. Perhaps the label has some writing on it. This is the record that you would find at a thrift store or yard sale and be pleasantly surprised by the quality. Overall, a record worth having in your collection, a keeper. PLEASE NOTE THAT I GRADE CONSERVATIVELY. MY VG+ IS LIKELY ANOTHER DEALERS VG++ OR EXCELLENT.
VG++ = A record that will be slightly noisy in places. There will still be some original gloss or shiny luster to the vinyl. Perhaps the vinyl is excellent otherwise, but has some light noise in one specific area (which would be noted). There may be an inconsequential hairline mark or two, and even paper scuffs from being pulled out of the sleeve. A record that holds its value and is in enviable condition.
EXCELLENT = A record that will have most or all of its' original gloss and shine. Surface marks are superfluous and minimal. The record sounds very clean and clear and any slight noise will be short-lived and basically inconsequential. The label has no writing on it. This record is close to being near mint and earns a space on the TOP SHELF of your record collection.
NEAR MINT = A record that has been opened and played very minimally, if at all. Only about 5% of used records earn this grading. There will be noise at all and no surface marks. This record is 100% sparkling clean and glossy with superb sound. TOP SHELF. I ALWAYS OFFER A 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR RECORD SELLING SCRATCHY RECORDS = BAD KHARMA BAD KHARMA = SELLING SCRATCHY RECORDS
I DO NOT SELL SCRATCHED RECORDS. IF THERE IS A SKIP OR A REPEAT TIC THE RECORD GOES TO THE THRIFT STORE TO JOIN THE LIKES OF ANDY WILLIAMS, BARBARA STREISAND, AND OF COURSE...ENGLEBERT HUMPERDINK
