Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
For auction here is an original UK copy of one of the great legendary psychedelic LPs, namely Locomotive's 'We are everything you see' on Parlophone number PCS 7093, an LP released in 1970.
The laminated front cover has minor bumping and creasing, some with a bit of clarifoil lift. It is slightly limp and feathered at the very edge of the opening where the clarifoil stops ( about 2mm from the edge). The rear has some age toning and being picky a dark ring in the center forming an impression of the middle of the LP inner. Some rubbing to the edge of the flip backs. Overall though no major faults at all with the cover (see my photos).
The unlined EMI advertising inner sleeve is age toned and has one or two brown spots but again no major faults. I will be shipping it with a brand new lined inner sleeve as well as this original.
The vinyl is very nice, bright and shining with no visible marks on the surface to cause distress. They are one or two hairlines detectable under strong edgewise lighting which are almost certainly caused by the removal of the LP from its unlined inner. Likewise the labels are in great condition. There are obvious signs of play with marks around the spindle hole and on play there is some light surface noise audible in the quiet areas when played on my Linn. However it is sonically in good shape with no, for example, evidence of distortion around instrumental highlights etc.. One of the best copies I've seen of this LP.
So there it is, a legendary album, and a copy in great collectable condition and sure to please any vinyl collector. I'd rate it being very strict as VG+/EX-.
