LON & DERREK VAN EATON  Brother  -  original UK Apple 1972 demo LP, with insert.


Apple  SAPCOR 25,  1972 UK issue, matrix number endings A-1U PORKY, B-1U PECKO;  labels printed ‘Demonstration record. Not for sale’, covered over with plain white stickers;  release date 2.2.73 printed on labels;  laminated gatefold sleeve; 3 part insert.


 


Line-up: Derrek Van Eaton (lead vocals, flute, bass, guitar, drums), Lon Van Eaton (piano, vocals, guitar, saxophone, drums), Ringo Starr, Andy Newmark, Jim Gordon (drums), Alexis Guevara (congas), T.J. Tindall (guitar), Paul Glanz (organ), Klaus Voormann (bass), Mike Hugg (harmonium), Richard Davis (bass).

One track produced by George Harrison, all others by Klaus Voormann.


Cover  VG  Laminated gatefold sleeve in substantially presentable condition: some mild storage wear and short light creases; bottom corners worn, small bump to right hand ones; tiny amount of wear to bottom edges; some rubbing to the open edges, particularly the back one, where the laminate does not reach right to the edge; as a result this edge is a bit grubby; inside panels have storage wear and some scarring along the bottom edges from the foldover laminate edge strips; spine is for the most part firm and perfectly legible.


The original paper inner sleeve is included, VG condition, also the insert, which has been separated into its three component parts.


 


Disc  EX-/VG+  Glossy, fresh looking vinyl, one tiny surface mark on side 1, two small ones on side 2, no other obvious marks.  Labels look fine, except stickers blanking out wording ‘Demonstration record …’  Plays without any skipping, sticking, etc.; sound is near excellent with just some faint or light crackle mostly around track breaks, a little in the first three tracks and occasionally elsewhere; a couple of pops on side 2.
