Description
You are bidding on "MY HOME IS A PRISON" and "LONESOME WHISTLER" by blues singer LONESOME SUNDOWN on EXCELLO 2102 issued in 1957.
Lonesome Sundown was born Cornelius Green on the Dugas Plantation near Donaldsonville, LA in 1928. He died in 1995.
This was his second record on Excello, the first being "Lost Without Love". This has a very similar sound, but I think is way better than his first. This has excellent lyrics. "Lonesome Whistler" is excellent. You get two fine blues songs on one record.
I bought this record new in the spring of 1961 at Rose Record Store on Wabash Avenue in the Chicago Loop. They were cleaning out their 45 rpm files and had thousands of 45s for sale at six for a dollar. I bought lots of Blues, R&B and R&R, many of which I had never heard. This was one of them.
I am getting up in years and am starting to sell my small collection, as my children and grandchildren are not interested.
Condition: Very light wear, no scuffs or scratches, a VG+. It's been stored in a Decca 45 album for 40+ years. That black spot on Lonesome Whistler is a production defect on the label.
Please bid with confidence, if you are not happy with any record, return it for a refund. I want my customers to be happy with their purchase
If buying more than one record, please do not pay until I have sent an invoice.
Be sure to check out my other 45 RPM BLUES RECORDS!
I will mail your record the day after payment is received if humanly possible. The weather (floods, tornadoes, ice storms and snow storms), Postal Service holidays and Sundays can delay shipping.
If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, or feel that you cannot leave a rating of 5 in all areas, please contact me before leaving feedback. I want to have happy customers!
I would really appreciate payment within 48 hours.
