Description

Long before the recent epic Lord Of The Rings film trilogy there was an animated film version of the classic Tolkien saga. Made in 1978, directed by Ralph Bakshi, with a beautiful orchestral score by renowned movie composer Leonard Rosenman, the film only had limited release. This very scarce limited collectors' edition package on Fantasy Records (LORPD-2) contains the film score on two superb LP picture discs, with different pictures from the movie on each side (ie 4 in all). The discs are in a die-cut gatefold sleeve, and the whole thing makes a beautiful and highly collectable package.
