Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ORIGINAL '70s FIRST PRESSING ~~ LOST REAL PEOPLE LP
McALLEN
USA - SPIRIT 9645-2 002
Very rare - Original '70s first pressing in gatefold cover ... the back cover shows the artist pictured in a marijuana garden... completely obscure/lost/buried underground hippie folk hipster, all guitar structured, with real people vocals & vibe ... The Lp is highly rated by collectors of the genre and whenever it surfaces gets a lot of attention... hee is a nice condition survivor from the local Michigan scene...
Bob McAllen has an excellent, smooth tenor voice and not afraid to use it. This self released Lp squeezes a lot of action from that asset and he soars on top of acessible songwriter tunes. As well the tracks are all good with all guitar led arrangements. The Lp deserves any genre fan's attention, especially where all the tunes interlock in a way that makes for truly terrific listening. One of those records that stick with you the more it is played (i.e. a grower!) ...
This rather amazing lost talent is a 12-string slinging folkrock singer-songwriter from East Lansing, Michigan. He’s got a bit of a Tim Buckley sound, and he’s a really interesting lyricist.
"Lady Today" also features the "Woolies" (legendary Detroit hardrock band) including Jeff Baldori on lead guitar. "By Candlelight", subtitled "Love Song to a Cat" is just that but it's quite a nice piece of folk psych with flugel horn low in the mix providing texture. You can't beat the honesty of such self-produced music. His vocals and 12-string are both good. "It Depends" has a fast tempo and a dreamy texture with echoed vocals in the 60's mode. Original sound with lyrics like "I used to walk the fields with a gun - just for fun but now I walk with empty hands again. I do not care for hunting any more - since the war. I will not hunt for animals or men." More dreaminess on "Guess We'll Never Be That Way Again" and "Nights Like This".
