Offered at auction with no reserve, a pristine copy of Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs' (MFSL) re-issue of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington Recording Together for the First Time. Re-mastered by MFSL from the original master tapes using their half speed mastering technique. The records were then pressed by JVC in Japan. These pressings are well known for their quiet surfaces. The vinyl surfaces on these discs for the most part look like new but have acquired two light scratches over the years. One is a very short scratch (about 1/4 inch long) covering the last few grooves of track 2 side one (Lucky So and So) and the first few grooves of track 3 (Cotton Tail). If you listen carefully you can hear a slight tick - most audible in the grooves between the tracks. The other is a very light scratch extending through about 3/4 of track 1 side 4 (Just Squeeze Me) and extending into the first grooves of track 2 side 4 (I Got it Bad). Although quite visible, this is barely audible - you have to listen carefully for the slight tick - does not detract at all from the music. The sleeve is NM showing only very slight bump on the corners of the spine. Sound quality of this legendary jazz recording is absolutely exceptional and this copy will not disappoint. I will pack with care in a dedicated LP mailer and ship via media mail to a US address.
