THIS AUCTION FEATURES ONE OF THE GREAT ENTERTAINERS OF ALL TIME - LOUIS "SATCHMO" LOUIS ALONG WITH THE MILLS BROS. BOTH PERFORMING ON THE SAME 1940'S OR 50'S 10-INCH LP.
NO DATE ON THE ALBUM, BUT WAS RECORDED IN THE EITHER THE LATE 40'S OR EARLY 50's ERA ON DECCA RECORDS AS A 10-INCH MICROGROOVE UNBREAKABLE VINYL LP - 33-1/3 RPM.
OF COURSE LOUIE ARMSTRONG WAS PERHAPS THE BEST PLAYER TO HAVE EVER PICKED UP A TRUMPET. HE ALSO SANG SOME GREAT HITS IN HIS DAY. HE WAS BORN IN 1900 AND DID MORE TO HELP JAZZ MUSIC THAN ANY OTHER PERFORMER OF HIS TIME.
HE WAS BORN AND LATER PERFORMED IN THE HEART OF JAZZ - NEW ORLEANS ON BASIN STREET. HIS CAREER FINALLY TOOK HIM ALL THE WAY TO CARNEGIE HALL.
THE MILL BROS. WERE ONE OF THE GREAT SINGING QUARTETS OF THE ERA AS WELL. THEY ALSO REACHED GREAT FAME INCLUDING PERFORMING IN A COMMAND PERFORMANCE FOR ENGLAND'S KING AND QUEEN.
THERE ARE OTHER VERSIONS OF THIS RECORD THAT WERE DISTRIBUTED, BUT THIS IS THE MORE RARE VERSION. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT BOTH THE RECORD ALBUM COVER AND VINYL RECORD ARE IN GREAT SHAPE.
THE COVER HAS NO MAJOR DEFECTS OR FLAWS - NO STAINS - NO SIGNIFICANT SEAM RIPS - NO WRITING - VERY LITTLE AGE WEAR FOR AN LP OF IT'S AGE. THE VINYL RECORD IS ALSO VERY WELL PRESERVED WITH ALL OF IT'S ORIGINAL FACTORY GLOSS. ONLY A FEW SMALL MINOR SURFACE SCRATCHES CAN BE DISCERNED UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT. SCRATCHES ARE NOT A PROBLEM WITH THIS COPY. - SEE PHOTOS.
