GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : oltre che ottimo cantante orientato al jazz e al pop-rock, Louis Prima è stato un bravo trombettista swing. Queste sue notevoli esperienze musicali si possono avvertire facilmente in questo piacevole album. Le canzoni del film " Mary Poppins " composte da Richard M. Sherman e Robert  B. Sherman nelle versioni di Prima e di sua moglie, Gia Maione, con interessanti arrangiamenti curati dallo stesso cantante e l'accompagnamento musicale di Sam Butera & The Witnesses. Grande esecuzione di " Chim Chim Cheree ". Simpatiche e curiose le versioni in Italiano di " Stay Awake " con il titolo " Stiamo Svegli " e di " Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ".

Notes : as well as excellent jazz-oriented and also pop-rock singer, Louis Prima was a great swing trumpeter therefore his large musical experience can be felt easily in this enjoyable album. The songs from the movie " Mary Poppins " composed by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman in the versions of Prima and his wife, Gia Maione, with intriguing arrangements by the same singer and the sound accompaniment of Sam Butera & The Witnesses. Outstanding vocal performance in  " Chim Chim Cheree ". Likeable and curious Italian versions of " Stay Awake " under the title " Stiamo Svegli " and " Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ".
